Traditionally, wakaf has often been associated with large-scale contributions involving significant assets. However, the aspiration to perform wakaf has always existed within the community, with many individuals seeking simpler and more practical ways to participate.

Today, with the introduction of Wakaf ASNB, investors are now able to contribute through unit trust holdings, supported by seamless digital access via the myASNB platform. With just a few simple steps, wakaf can be performed anytime and anywhere—opening the door for wider participation and enabling more individuals to begin their wakaf journey.

From Investment to Impactful Contribution

Through Wakaf ASNB, your investments go beyond personal financial goals—they become a source of continuous contribution. Unit holders are able to dedicate a portion of their unit trust holdings as wakaf, transforming personal investments into a form of ongoing charity that supports community development and the well-being of the ummah.

At the same time, ASNB’s unit trust investments continue to generate competitive returns, ensuring that the value of your investment has the potential to grow while contributing to a lasting and meaningful impact.

The Wakaf ASNB Concept

The unit trust-based wakaf concept introduced by ASNB integrates investment principles with wakaf mechanisms, enabling unit holders to perform wakaf in a structured, accessible, and systematic manner.

This initiative is further strengthened by ASNB’s appointment as a Mutawalli by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), ensuring that all wakaf management is conducted with integrity and in full compliance with Shariah principles.

Wakaf ASNB, now from as low as RM100

As part of efforts to broaden community participation, Wakaf ASNB also introduces an Affordable Wakaf option starting from as low as RM100, available exclusively via the myASNB digital platforms (app and portal). This initiative does not replace the existing wakaf offering (minimum RM1,000),but rather complements it by providing an alternative for individuals who wish to contribute despite having more limited financial capacity.

Through this approach, a wider segment of society particularly younger individuals and middle-income groups can begin their wakaf journey more easily, fostering a habit of consistent giving over time. With greater accessibility through digital channels, Wakaf ASNB serves as a more inclusive platform in enabling meaningful contributions to the community.

The Wakaf ASNB Approach Enables:

Wakaf ASNB Contributions to Society

Wakaf represents a form of charitable giving in Islam that delivers enduring benefits to society. Beyond supporting those in need, it plays a vital role in advancing social and economic development on a broader scale. Through wakaf, contributed assets continue to generate value, creating a sustainable source of benefit for the ummah.

For Wakaf ASNB, dividends generated from wakaf contributions are channelled to approved projects and beneficiaries through a rigorous screening and evaluation process. The distribution is governed by a dedicated Distribution Committee to ensure that all funds are managed with integrity, efficiency, and meaningful impact. This approach ensures that wakaf contributions are not only sustained but also deliver tangible benefits to recipients, communities, and the nation.

Key Impact Areas of Wakaf ASNB:

  • Providing access to basic necessities such as food and shelter
  • Enhancing access to education and healthcare services
  • Supplying medical equipment, machines, and healthcare funding support to hospitals
  • Developing and upgrading public facilities including mosques, schools, and water supply systems
  • Supporting economic development and job creation
  • Assisting vulnerable groups, including asnaf, persons with disabilities, and orphans
  • Reducing social inequality through more inclusive distribution

This milestone stands as a testament to the trust placed by unit holders in ASNB’s ability to manage wakaf funds responsibly and effectively. It also symbolises a spirit of unity and shared purpose in strengthening wakaf practices for the inclusive and sustainable development of the ummah and the nation.
